What is DumbDroid OS

Dumbdroid is a variant of Android 14 designed especially for keypad phones. This includes making the keypad work better, properly sizing applications and allowing support for WhatsApp. We are constantly making improvements to Dumbdroid – please visit our site for it here - https://dumbdroid.eu/! We ensure to keep it up to date and release regular updates.

Dumbdroid OS comes with two modes:

Google Apps Mode/Normal mode:

- Comes with Google Play Store as the main application store

- Comes with Google Play Services to make Android applications work properly

- Google Maps as the main mapping application

 

Vanilla Mode/Minimalist mode:

- Comes with the open source MicroG as the Google Services shim

- Organic Maps as the main mapping applications

- Dumbstore as the main application store

Preinstalled Applications on both:

- Open source music, notes, messaging and phone app

- Traditional T9 keyboard

- Brave browser

- Breezy Weather

- Parental Controls/Distraction blocker integrated by default

We work hard to ensure that the operating system does not come with ‘bloatware’ to make the battery life last long and keep the UI clean.
